The guitar has a central place in popular music. Pop/Rock guitar lessons are very popular because many people want to play the songs
they listen to on the radio or Youtube. Once you learn a small number of chords, you can play a very large number of songs. In fact, more
than 75% of the music on the radio only consists of 2-4 chords per song section.

If your focus is in this area, we will spend time during your guitar lessons learning pop/rock songs of your choice. By building a repertoire
(song list) we will create a framework for comparison. Important musical concepts can then be integrated into your practice simply by using the
songs you have already learned as examples.
One of the great benefits of learning songs in this way is that people love a guitar player who knows all of the popular songs! It's very
cool to be able to entertain your friends and family at parties or even events. Eventually you may even decide to take your act to restaurants,
bars and clubs. "Top 40" acts, or "General Business" bands as they are sometimes called in the Boston-metro area are paid well, and generally
have a lot of fun.
