Lesson Policies

Updated Feb 3, 2012.

Tuition: Instruction is not offered on a lesson-by-lesson basis. In order to secure a lesson spot, we ask that our students provide their billing information to us, much like a gym or health club membership. The tuition fee is assessed on the first of every month. It is safely and conveniently charged to a credit card, debit card, or personal checking account. By billing on a recurring basis, we are able to offer instruction that is the highest value in the Boston area, and very affordable. Please see our Pricing page for more details about pricing.

Your Lesson Time: Your lesson time will occur on the same day each week. Each student is assigned a time slot where they are entitled to their lesson. If the lesson is missed, no refunds can be made. It is sometimes possible to makeup a missed lesson if there are extenuating circumstances, but this is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the instructor(s).

Cancellations: There is no minimum commitment period and lessons can be cancelled at any time; however, as all lessons are billable on the first of the month, the student is responsible for canceling their lessons before they are billed, as there are no refunds given once the lesson payment has been made. Notification of one week is required to ensure billing is cancelled in time.

Refund Policy: No refunds are offered for missed or cancelled lessons.

Location: Lessons are held in a professional, commercial instructional space located in the Back Bay of Boston. We see our students by appointment only. See our Studio Location page for more details.

Lesson Time: Lessons require focus and concentration; the parent or caregiver is welcome to be present during the lesson, but friends, siblings, pets and other distractions are discouraged from having access to the lesson room.

Materials: An instructional book may be assigned. Please obtain a copy of it and bring it to future lessons. Auxiliary materials such as strings, metronome, paper and the like may be needed as well.

Practice: Each individual is different. However, most students have better luck with short, daily practice routines than with longer, weekly sessions. 15-30 minutes a day is an achievable goal with which the beginning student can notice results.

Don't wait! Lesson spaces are filling up fast, and lesson times are not always available, depending on the season. Please to set up a free introductory guitar lesson!
