Guitar Lessons for Kids in Boston

Learning music has many important benefits for children

If you don't keep your children occupied, they'll keep you occupied! Guitar lessons are great for children of all ages. The guitar is an excellent instrument for kids to learn. It's low-maintenance, and very easy to learn to strum a few chords. The acoustic guitar is popular among parents because it isn't loud or disturbing.

Neuroscientists have demonstrated that, of all childhood activities, learning music has by far the greatest impact. Studying music has an affect on the brain that is still not yet fully understood. However, it is thought that music bridges the gap between many important areas of learning (creativity, aesthetics, communication, organization, discipline) and allows musical little people to get a head start that their peers may not have. There are many cases of troubled or delinquent children correcting the difficulties in their life once they discover their love of music. Why? We have to take care of ourselves in order to take care of the things that are important to us. Everyone has passion for something--even if it isn't discovered yet.

If your kids are interested in taking guitar lessons, please consider providing them with the opportunity to learn early on. Most of the greatest virtuosos started playing at a very early age. What if your child has a tremendous talent waiting to be unleashed upon the world? An obvious musical talent is the key that many people use to connect socially, express feelings and even get into a top college. If he or she starts now, your child might just amaze you in five or ten years.

However, regardless of the outcome, the point of music education for children is NOT to create little Mozarts, but to give children access to one of the world's most satisfying and nourishing activities. All children can benefit immensely from music education, whether or not they achieve a high level of playing ability.

It's very important that children learning the guitar do so under the guidance of an experienced teacher. There are many pitfalls to avoid, bad habits to eliminate, and good practices to instill. In addition, children especially need encouragement, positive feedback and to be given credit for their achievements. Every child wants to make his or her parents proud, but there is nothing quite like winning the approval of an admired teacher.

Generally, smaller persons come equipped with shorter attention spans. For this reason, 30 minute lessons are suggested. You are warmly invited to attend and be involved in lessons at this stage.
